Almetyevsk State Oil Institute

Almetyevsk State Petroleum Institute (AGNI) is a regional higher education institution in the Russian Federation.Almetyevsk, training personnel for the oil industry. The founder is Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan.

History

During the Great Patriotic War, when the country lost its oil production and refining areas in the Caucasus, surveys and geological exploration of oil fields in the territory of the TASSR began. In the late 1940s, an event occurred in Tatarstan that radically changed the face of the south-east of the Republic and had a huge impact on the life of the entire republic: the famous Romashkinskoye field was discovered and its development and industrial development began. Specialists from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus and other parts of the Soviet Union came to the new oil region. However, the cadres of workers and IT specialists who arrived at the new field could not meet the needs of expanding production, primarily in specialists with higher education. Under these conditions, the best form of training specialists was recognized as their training from among the employees of oil companies in the region.

The solution to this problem was taken over by the Gubkin Moscow Petroleum Institute, which in September 1956 opened a correspondence faculty training and consulting center (CPC) in Almetyevsk. By order of the Minister of Higher and Secondary Education of the USSR No. 16 dated 03.01.1959, the Tatar Evening Faculty (TVF) was organized on the basis of the branch of the correspondence faculty of MING.

During its existence, the faculty has completed 33 graduates and trained about 3,000 oil and gas engineers in five specialties for the oil and gas industry.

By Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan No. 415 dated 28.07.1992 " On the transfer of the Tatar Evening Faculty of the Gubkin State Academy of Oil and Gas to the jurisdiction of the State Administration Bodies of the Republic of Tatarstan”, the TVF established the Almetyevsk Oil Institute, which in 2003 was renamed the Almetyevsk State Oil Institute (AGNI). The first rector of the Almetyevsk Petroleum Institute was V. N. Matveev. From October 1999 to March 2016, the rector was Alexander A. Emekeev. From 2016 to March 2020, the Institute was headed by Robert Zagitovich Nurgaliyev, from March to October 2020 - Alexey Fedorovich Ivanov. Starting from October 12, 2020, Alexander Anatolyevich Diakonov was appointed Acting Rector of the Almetyevsk State Petroleum Institute.

Currently, 167 teachers work at 3 faculties and 14 departments, including 23 doctors of sciences, 89 candidates of sciences.
